Chakras are energetic centers located along the spinal column in the body. These centers can become blocked or out of balance. When this occurs, things begin to manifest differently in our experience. In this yoga series, we will spend 1-2 weeks on each chakra beginning at the root and working our way up to the crown. We will engage in different forms of yoga (restorative, yin, vinyasa), meditation, affirmations and discussion about ways to balance each chakra.
Muladhara (Root)- Signs of imbalance: scattered energies, anxiety, fear, ungrounded, scarcity mindset.
Svadhishthana (Sacral)- Signs of imbalance: Creative blocks, lack or nurturing, emotional isolation, lack of intimacy.
Manipura (Solar Plexus)- Signs of imbalance: Limited self esteem, questioning life’s purpose, low confidence, control issues, aggression, feelings of helplessness.
Anahata (Heart)- Signs of imbalance: Depression, difficulty in relationships, lack of self discipline.
Vishuddha (Throat)- Signs of imbalance: Lack of open communication, difficulty expressing oneself fully, Increased anxiety, shyness, being withdrawn.
Ajna (Third Eye)- Signs of imbalance: Lack of clarity and direction, Imaginative block, limited foresight.
Sahasrara (Crown)- Signs of imbalance: Disconnected from higher self and universe, lacking relationship with spirit, closeminded.
